I've read that the Corrs opened for the Rolling Stones on tour, and I've heard the band say that they considered this a highlight. For instance, Sharon talks about this in the old COW fan Q&A videos recently posted by Rick T. (*)
How did this come about? I've always found this to be rather strange. I would not think that the fan base of the Corrs would overlap much, if at all, with the fan base of the Stones.
How were the Corrs received by the Stones fans? Did they get a lot of new fans through this exposure? (I guess there's no way to know for sure, but did the band ever say anything about it?)
(*) Let me put in another plug for these videos. They were posted in the thread entitled "Band members Q&A from the old Corrs Official Website" about a week ago. RIck's post was near the bottom of the thread, so some people may not have noticed it. The videos are terrific -- 93 questions lasting more than an hour. The questions, submitted by fans, are really interesting, and the band members are clearly trying to answer thoughtfully instead of just giving simple cliched answers. I converted all of the videos to mp3's and put them on my iPod, and now I listen to them on shuffle play while I do housework. Thanks again, Rick T.!
