Runaway is way simpler and more straightforward, and it takes no time for anyone to know that it's a love song, about adoration for the singer's loved one, while Closer is much more open for interpretation. It could be about a stalker 
but as a whole I think it's about the singer really wanting to get the attention from someone she adores, and how she's willing to prove that she is definitely worth his attention - while he just goes through his day, not noticing her adoration and being stuck in dazed oblivion
