Of course, I could just get an account, but for me it would be preferable to have some kind of site where anyone could upload and download stuff.

Here's another question: for those of us who don't have access to a recording studio, what is the best way to record parts? As I mentioned earlier, we can synchronize by listening to the original track on headphones and singing/playing along. How should we do the actual recording? I can record keyboards using GarageBand. If people are singing or playing tin whistle, do they just play into the mic on their computer? What software should they use? If people don't use GarageBand, one possibility is to use Audacity, which is free and runs on Windows/Mac/Linux, and can (with some extra plug-ins) output mp3 files. It's pretty easy to use.
