I don't have a facebook account either. We could start a club, but maybe not set up a facebook page.

My take on this is that you can record parts on your computer, or on your mobile phone, (I don't have one of those either). Anything that records a commonly recognisable file. Common ones are wav, mp3 or mp4 or m4a on iphones. It's not too difficult to convert files to a common format later. The crucial bit to reduce later workload, is to record in the same key and tempo, and preferably have a common start point marker in the recording.

Some methods of file sharing may struggle if we use large files like wav, but dropbox or google drive won't worry about those, if we have a shared access site. Usually, the smaller the file, the lower the quality, but that's a different argument, that we probably don't need to have.

Compiling the files will need either a hardware device, or a software solution. Depending how sophisticated your kit, aligning / synchronising and normalising the recording levels of the files is next, then maybe adding FX,before mixing and finally mastering the track. I think Wendy said she has access to Logic, which is a good one, and is happy to give this a go.

Is the song decided? Are we aiming at an interpretation of the song, or a copy?
