Great observation. As you say, you hear the violin before Sharon starts playing, and it's not particularly close. The video perfectly matches the audio, so it's not a youtube audio/video sync issue.
I have noticed another example like this before, although I don't remember where I saw it. I highly doubt that Sharon is just miming the violin part to a backing track. My guess is that she is indeed playing live, but that the part is doubled on the backing track to give it more presence. (That's what they do with the backing vocals.) Can anyone think of any other possibilities?
