As a band I imagine they get professional feedback from their peers (T-bone, Bono, John Hughes...). Die hard fans may not be the best crowd to get your feedback from... :D
I could see why they would want to keep their distance, especially with some fans (one example that springs to mind but is extreme : a group of French fans that chased the band by car after a concert during BH for several hours on end, stalking them at a distance when they stopped to eat or at their hotel....)
That's not to say they don't check in here.
