London and New York are the 2 worst places I've experienced this. Many of those autograph hunters|
are unemployed and living on benefits but they make a good income by selling autographed items on eBay. Over the years I've got to recognise a number of the London ones who spend the whole day outside the city's TV and radio studios - they thrust a photo for signing in the face of any celeb entering or leaving, often not even knowing who the person is until they get home and see what they've got from their day spent on the pavement/sidewalk.
