Much as some of us may wish it so; you cannot force the media to grant airtime or airplay, especially in their situation

Most of those artists above them in the charts also have far far higher public profiles and in some cases; the full weight of their labels behind them ..... which will have far more impact when it comes to the mainstream media and getting airplay/airtime.

For better or worse they aren't really a fit for most "Top 40" radio stations which in turn reduces which stations you can target. You then need to look at what media gives you best "bang for your buck" and that means network tv and radio stations with UK wide coverage or at least country wide (ie Scotland, N Ire).

Maybe in the olden days, they would've been up for the slog of doing the rounds of the various UK regional stations but is that really viable for them now ? They no longer have the push of their label's head office which they had in their peak years but if they actually signalled that they WERE willing to tour (and to some extent promote in certain markets then Warner would most likely "shop them" to media in those markets ...... but it all boils down to "just how hard are they willing to "work it"" ?
