Good point on the lack of rhyming; I never noticed that. I was wondering what makes a song sound like a musical theater tune -- is it the music, the lyrics, the singing, all of these, or something else? My best guess is that there is something about the style of singing: there's a certain crispness and enunciation that falls somewhere between singing and speaking. This is especially evident in lines such as "Hills and hips and heartache".

Interesting observation that all of the new songs performed at RAH were likely Andrea's songs rather than Sharon's. I wonder if Jim wrote the music for Dear Life, as the piano parts are more complex than in many of their other songs (the chords change rather quickly), and Jim is the best pianist of the group? I would love to know more about who wrote which song.

Agreed that Butter Flutter sounded better live at RAH than on the studio album. In the line, "something on my MIND", Andrea sings the high note with more power in the RAH performance than on the album. In fact, she does a great job selling the song at RAH, both in her singing and her body language. She has a kind of assertiveness and spunk that really fits the song. I wonder if Jim also wrote the music for this song? It definitely sounds like a song that was written on electric guitar rather than on piano.
