Firstly, sorry I haven't done anything about the Corrs Club collaboration yet - I've been a bit sick plus was madly getting repertoire/a band together for a performance of Celtic music and originals (which I did yesterday). Should be able to get onto it soon!
As for the gig I did yesterday, I'd met the musicians who played with me ten years ago in a trad Irish music session. I basically began looking into trad Irish music because of The Corrs and Riverdance. And the bodhran player I performed with said that I used to go to the session and play Corrs tunes (some of which are traditional anyway), but he said other musos there were really snobby about it because The Corrs weren't "traditional". Oops.
Anyway, my band yesterday included Runaway in our first set, then we got a request to play it again! I sang vocal harmonies and another singer in the band sang the main melody/played piano. We don't have a fiddle player so I played the instrumental parts on clarinet - but that's okay, because we're experimenting in this band!
