I have also had the impression that trad music purists don't generally think much of the Corrs. For instance, I came across this website:

(Don't read this site unless you want to read people putting down the Corrs, often in a rather mean-spirited way.)
This is not unique to the Corrs or to Irish music. Jazz purists, for instance, often look down upon people who play "smooth jazz" or pop-jazz, such as Kenny G and Chuck Mangione. It's really too bad but unfortunately not uncommon.
