In case it gets taken the wrong way!

It's really good if it's one of your first times setting lyrics to text, because the held notes are set to nice open sounding lyrics for singing. I can totally hear someone singing it in my head.

I could hear it as more of a waltz if you removed the 2/4 bars - but again, you might be trying something stylistically different.

An idea of what I was talking about in my previous message would be to perhaps begin "Row on row" on the first beat of the bar, or even syncopate that line a little. (eg have half a bar rest before "Row"). It's hard to explain here. Try a couple of ideas and see how they feel. Also, think about how you might say those words out loud, naturally, if you were just talking to someone and listen to the rhythm of how you say them.

If you're getting interested in lyric setting, Pat's book is really good. He also has some great free videos on his website, definitely worth checking out.

I even want to go back and watch them again to polish up!

As for Zannah's song, she has it on iTunes as well, maybe somewhere else. I don't play on the recording, but in performance I've been doing backing vocals and some clarinet. We also sing a song of hers called "Remember Me" but her recorded version is far more heavy.
