I like getting constructive feedback too - whatever it takes to make something better. Hearing it used to be harder. But now that I've been to a few of Pat Pattison's workshops, where he'll analyse your song and give you suggestions in front of a whole class, I've grown used to it. I'm much better at separating "myself" from "the work".
