The production in both songs is similar, especially in the synth bass and drums, and the tempos are close. Both songs are in the same key; you can play both at the same time and they blend together. They both have very similar chord progressions, with the verse in a relative minor key modulating into the relative major key for the chorus (you can hear the chorus sounds "brighter"). You could make a nice mashup of the two songs.
