Monday in Milton Keynes was a lovely evening watching Sharon Corr and Vonda Shepard. Perfect front row tickets care of Luke Sampson and lovely to see Lonneke Huijsmans Richard Yeabsley Cara Jacobson Holloway Marc Holloway, Chris Hall and Dave too. Great show with Vonda kicking off. She played the grand pianist brilliantly and although I didnt know any of her songs it was mostly good stuff. Sharons set was excellent with some of the old favourites and some covers mixed in. Loved Cooleys Reel just such a perfect instrumental; played Dreams, Radio and So Young which I enjoyed. Good to see how Vonda and Sharon supported each other with a few songs vocally, they obviously get on so well. Usual laughs about the technical problems which plagued Sharon all night. What a band they had, the lead guitarist played with Tina Turner for 20 years, The base guitarist plays with Bruce Springsteen. You wouldn’t believe that the first time they met was at the weekend - all the rehearsals done on face time lol. Just shows you how things have moved on. Nice to see Sharon afterwards for a chat and a photo. Always have a laugh about something when we chat. She saw I had her set list which I had asked her to sign so we ended up In a three way discussion with Vonda about the extra work it was going to take to right up all the set lists again for tonights show! I think she really thought I would give it back as she left it right until the last minute to sign it. But it was all in good heart, she gave a few lovely smiles during the show and when I saw her in the bar area afterwards she said it was good to see me again which was nice. All in all a really great show.
