Ah, got it. I know what you mean about authenticity vs perfection. I think somewhere in the middle is fine. eg, I'd be reluctant to quantize every note, but moving a few notes to be better in time doesn't make it inauthentic. If anything, it's authentic to your intent with how you want the song to feel.

Also, it's not a live version, and we're not covering a live version of a song (like something off Jupiter Calling). We're covering a recorded song, which has probably been edited etc and therefore is its own form of art. That's just my opinion!
