Billy Idol and Joe Jackson have written memoirs in the past few years, and supposedly they wrote them themselves, without ghostwriters. I read an excerpt from Billy Idol's book, and you can tell he wrote it himself. It doesn't feel as polished as a book written by a professional author; it feels a bit like reading a diary (although it arguably does gain something in authenticity). Andrea obviously reads a lot, so I bet she could do it herself if she wanted to and if she worked with a good editor.
