...it must be written already. The wording of the article ("acquired world rights to Barefoot Pilgrimage") also suggests that the publisher purchased the rights to a book that is already done. If Andrea had been working with a publisher the entire time, it would be more likely that they might have set her up with a ghostwriter. But this sounds more like Andrea has been writing on her own and only now found a publisher.
