The Corrs Club

I also found the part about touring the US to be odd

I don't know if JC was "officially" released here, but certainly the release of WL and JC received zero coverage in the US media. I don't think the average person in the US is even aware of the Corrs. At best a few people might remember them as the one-hit wonders who did Breathless a long time ago.

I think a reasonable comparison might be Dido, who I'm guessing is a bigger name (at the moment) in the UK than the Corrs are. Dido recently toured the US, and I went to see her show in Philadelphia. She had been playing what looked like large theaters or small arenas in Europe, but her Philadelphia show was in a small 1200-person venue. Also, Sharon toured the US to support The Same Sun. When she played Philadelphia, the venue was a small theater that seated (I'm guessing) maybe 300 people. So I'd think the Corrs, if they were to play the US, might expect to play 1000-seat venues at best.

That being the case, I can't see why the Corrs would do a US tour when they would play smaller audiences than they would in Europe, with greater travel expenses, and with more inconvenience to their families. That's another reason why I was skeptical of the Irish Sun article. I certainly hope I'm wrong and they do come here, but I'm not expecting it.
