Steve, I think you're right that the memoir won't be too focussed on her music career. From her own description, it seems a large focus will be about dealing with the loss of her parents. It's obviously devastating, and it's become such a large part of the band's public story, but I kind of wish they didn't let that loss define them so much. Maybe that's just because I don't want to face my own fears! No doubt it was cathartic for Andrea to write this book.
I really like Andrea and think she's a creative songwriter with a good sense of humour and plenty of personality, but the book cover doesn't reflect this. It's nice, but generic. And I'm apprehensive that her lyric writing talent will be transferred to prose. Even her own Instagram post announcing the book was clunky (a little unprofessional). Obviously an editor will have sifted through the text though.
These will be unpopular opinions but I hope to be proven wrong!
