Mentari mentioned that Rope is one of her favorite Hitchcock movies; it's one of mine, too. (In fact, I attended the University of Chicago, the site of the real-life crime that the movie is based on.)
I asked two questions in my original post about the Long Night video: the first was about the dolly zoom, and the second was about the unusual camerawork (or perhaps I should have said unusual editing). I don't know how I didn't think of this earlier, but I just realized that the unusual camerawork/editing in the video has something in common with Rope. That should be a big hint for any Hitchcock fans.
Mentari, I love all of the movies you named, too (although I'm somewhat less fond of Psycho. I haven't seen it in ages, though.)
