Clearly this is a serious matter, and I don’t aim to diminish it in anyway, but living in the UK where the government advice seems to be a little behind the rest of the world, and where they aren’t doing much to prevent the rife spread of stock piling syndrome, I thought a little humour can’t be a bad thing right?
So, I’m glad to see that CorrsClub are taking the isolation seriously. With our current post frequency, I think there is no chance of us spreading the disease, but if you do find yourself in a self isolation position, don’t forget about us, put a post up every day or 2.
It might be something funny, or simply a recount of what’s going on in your part of the world, not scare mongering, more casual observations, or highlighting a way you think people can do something different, or maybe a song recommendation to help us all cut through the hysteria and get a bit of enjoyment in life as it all passes.
I’d like to start countering the fear by bringing things back to simplicity.
with this version of A New England, a song many of us will recognise by Kirsty McColl, but was actually written by a lesser known / more Indy artist named Billy Bragg.
I adore the simplicity of this, it’s a perfect song for me, so raw, so to the point. It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. It sounds so pure, avoiding the 80s over produced sounds of Kirsty’s also very good version.
Hopefully the sound deadening provided by your 500 panic bought toilet rolls doesn’t ruin the sound.
