Looking at this photo, I thought the hill behind her looked a bit grassy, (the kind of thing you'd see on a beach, or near a beach) and that the sand beneath her feet looked a bit more compact than desert sand, which made me think it was sand that had been wet in the last 24 hours. And I thought that the sand under her feet looked more compact than the sand in the distance (which is how sand looks near the ocean).

But you could be right; it could be a desert where she is waiting for a prince!
Her feet actually look like they've been photoshopped on sand!
