I don't think Cliff Richard is well known in the US. I'm guessing hardly any Americans under age 50 would know who he is. I was vaguely aware he was a big star in England and started out as an Elvis-style rocker (although I have a hard time imagining him sounding like Little Richard). The only song of his I could think of off the top of my head is Suddenly, a duet he did with Olivia Netwon-John from the move Xanadu in the early 80s. (I did look him up in Wikipedia and recognized a few other songs of his, such as Devil Woman and We Don't Talk Anymore, which I don't think I have heard in 40 years!)
I agree, he looks and sings pretty well for an 82-year old. (This Christmas performance looks like at least a live vocal, although I couldn't tell if the instrumentals were live or mimed.) Impressive that someone who was a contemporary of Elvis is still performing.
