The Corrs Club

It's a nice article, there are some things in there that I find a little funny though...

It's obvious that Andrea has nostalgia for both vinyl and albums but in any interview or conversation I've seen, she often conflates the 2 things. Perhaps it's simply the language. Perhaps some words don't transcend generations very well. The Corrs often say "records" and this article "LP" and of course this is support for National "Album" Day.
For me, 2 of these things say vinyl (records and LP) while an Album is a different thing - one that isn't defined by a media.

Anyway, I loved that she is promoting albums (by which I mean a collection of songs that is pulled together in some way, at the least by the title, at the most by cohesive thought and ordering for the joy of the listener).
I love albums. I love CDs, I own 2 CD players, and still buy a fair amount of CDs to this day. I love having 45-60 minutes of songs grouped together the way the artist intended. I love it when artists play with this with outros and intros that come together, and even when entire albums tell a story in some way, and this could be anything from Taylor Swift grouping songs about love to early Genesis progressive rock where the album literally tells the story of a character.

I think it's funny that (due to the nature of physical music nowadays) The Corrs are releasing a physical vinyl album. The existed in the CD era. As a long time fan, I tried to collect all of the Corrs vinyl I could get my hands on, which amounted to a couple of promo dance mixes and some jukebox promos, until the FNF issue a couple of years back. We were practically begging for an In Blue vinyl release back on 2000.

I see also she makes mention of the recent activity, which I presume is likely the Fleetwood Mac covers we now know about presumably towards a Christine McVie tribute of some sort:

"We do have something new coming, but I can’t tell you what. It’s not a full album or anything. At the moment we’re getting ready to go on tour so there’s no making a full album, but never say never.”

I want to take positivity from the sentence following:

"And while some bands head out on the road and leave fans disappointed when they trot out “new material”, as opposed to the beloved hits, Corr is adamant that will not be the case for their fans."

but I expect lead as much from the lack of new material, or indeed the lack of successful material in general, rather than any TOC anniversary tour considerations!
