I'm pleased with "Little Lies" - it strikes a good balance. 12-Oct-2023 03:07:54

I, for one, am glad that they didn't change too much, which sometimes can make a song cover go awry. They didn't overthink it, but they did add the Irish elements with the fiddle and whistle, which give it that distinctive Corrs sound. I also thought the vocals on the song are excellent: Andrea's lead vocals are in fine form, as well the backing vocals from Caroline and Sharon. It's a mysterious and wonderful phenomenon, that sound of sisters singing harmony. It has probably existed in Ireland for centuries, but it was prolific in popular music going back to the Boswell Sisters, leading into all those sister groups from the '40s and '50s. I listened for Jim, but I didn't hear him, but the Corr sisters had that magic going.
It's a fine tribute to the late Christine McVie. The other Fleetwood Mac covers should be interesting to hear. I join those who are thrilled that there is new music from the Corrs!
