It sounds frustrating, the corruption that is happening with the ticket purchases there in the UK. I can understand how it makes sense to travel in other direction from your island to attend a concert in a more laid-back venue in Europe.
It sounds much like what we have over here in the U.S. When tickets go on sale, a large number are snapped up - or have already been snapped up - by outfits that re-sell them only if you sign up with them and pay an additional fee. These ticket resale companies don't seem to offer anything of value: instead, they essentially negotiate their way to the front of the line ("queue," that is) and then it's tantamount to them waiving the tickets in the air and saying, "Hey! I've got some tickets if you want them, but you're gonna have to make it worth my while."
