Hi all,

I was lucky enough to be at the gig at Westonbirt Arboretum on Saturday so I thought I would share some of my photos and videos which you can access through the links below as well as a brief report on the gig. The picture quality on the videos is pretty good but the sound isn't great at times as we were right in front of some speakers and Caroline's kick drum was too loud for the microphone on my phone!

I hadn't seen them play live since the Jupiter Calling gig at the Albert Hall in 2017 so it was so good to see them again! Westonbirt Arboretum is a lovely venue in the middle of open countryside but it was shame we had some typically British summer weather with a mixture of heavy showers, a cold wind and some sunshine! I got there soon after 11am, not sure if people would start queuing early or not, and for over an hour I was the only person waiting in heavy rain at the entrance gate. I went for a walk a bit later and met Chris (Corranga) who had managed to get into the event car park at around midday even though it wasn't supposed to open until 4:30pm! I moved my car in there too and we took our places at the entrance gate with no one else around. While we were there we were lucky enough to see and hear two soundchecks, one with pre-recorded music and then another a bit later with the actual band on stage. We could only get a glimpse of it through the gaps in the fence but it was great to hear a few of the songs ahead of the gig. We could hear them talking on stage and Sharon even joked that they had played so many songs they might as well run through the whole set! Luke joined us during the afternoon so Chris and I had someone else to talk to for a while!

By around 4pm a few more people started to join us and there was a good queue building up by the time the gates opened at 5pm. We were first in the queue so we managed to get to the barrier right at the front of the general admission section at the right hand half of the stage. There was a VIP section to our left. There was a gap between the sections so we were just to the left of Jim's spot on the stage. Most people had brought chairs and picnics and had to stay behind a line further back so there was a gap behind us that didn't fill up for some time!

We were pleased to find a merchandise stall selling tour t-shirts at the back of the arena so Chris and I both went over to buy one of those to add to our collections!

It was soon time for the music to start and we enjoyed great performances from Marisha Wallace and a fantastic set from the Germein Sisters which I really enjoyed.

The Corrs caught us by surprise as they came on stage a bit earlier than expected but it was great to hear Caroline's drum into leading into Only When I Sleep. It was so good to see them again! Andrea seemed to spot us almost immediately and gave us plenty of attention, coming over to our side a lot and smiling at us throughout the gig which was nice!

As you can see from the set list in my photos it was a pretty standard set although it felt a bit strange having Runaway moved to be part of the encore. I thought it worked well having the music videos playing on the screens for some of the songs and it was great that they played slightly different arrangements for a couple of songs too. I loved the version of Summer Sunshine they played and wished I had recorded it!

As always it was all over far too quickly but it was a brilliant night and it was amazing to see them again after such a long wait! Can't wait for the gigs in November!
