Maybe one of Simon's future guests has a good version stored in their basement! 08-Mar-2025 16:56:36

I'm fairly sure that there are better versions in existence. I think that, back then, YouTube was new and (I had to remind myself of this) there was a time when the max resolution was 480p and, for a time, stereo sound didn't exist. (I remember when stereo first became a "thing" at YouTube that one had to add something like "&FM=18" to the browser address to get videos to play in stereo). Therefore, at the time these EPK videos were uploaded, perhaps the promoters didn't concern themselves much with video and audio quality.
Another artist we all learned of because she was managed by John Hughes, Tara Blaise, put out a video of her lead single, "Paperback Cliché" and, in spite of all the effort to shoot an interesting music video, it ALSO was never uploaded in any decent quality, so we have been stuck with this one (in 240p!) uploaded 18 years ago by the creative consultancy Stylorouge (that also worked with the Corrs): https://youtu.be/-dxID4609g0?si=Ko2EhF-PIK2H9bkM. Poor Tara also deserved better! (Sharon even kept her back turned on Tara in her blind audition on The Voice Ireland). I've always thought highly of Tara's album Dances on Tables Barefoot that she made with John Hughes, but, around that time, the music industry had fallen on hard times. That shouldn't have made it impossible to upload better quality videos, though!
