On broadcast TV. This was in a day when many more people watched broadcast TV and in a primetime slot. The band were pretty popular at the time and I think this played a massive role in them becoming, at least in 1998, basically untouchable. TOC went on to become the album of the year in the UK and sold more copies than anything else.
In 1998 I was 16, and I can’t tell you how exciting it was to watch the concert on TV, which I think was 6 or so months before the video was released. Perhaps even more that I am even now as I sit here knowing I’ll be in that same venue watching that same band playing with passion again in about 10 days time!
