we’re slowly moving into a model where we own less and less, and instead pay ongoing subscriptions just to access things: software, media, even certain types of hardware. Real ownership is concentrating in fewer hands, which makes access more fragile and dependent on platforms.
And just to clarify what I meant earlier: when I said they “replaced” Dreams instead of adding it, I meant that up until now the remix was incorrectly labeled as the original. For example, you could play the original version of Talk On Corners, and when it reached Dreams, the remix would play instead. So its good that they fixed that. But now you cant listen to the remix at all.
But yes, totally agree, for example some of my favorite films don’t even exist in the digital ecosystem, and they’re already becoming harder to find.
