This Taste of Honey remake is a real surprise. It's an interesting redo with the instrumentation keeping it "eastern sounding."
I did some research on Kyu Sakamoto and he died a number of years ago tragically in a plane crash. There are videos of him singing the song on youtube. There is also a video of (I guess) his wife reminiscing about him. She was an actress and still is a lovely woman.
