I thought, from your post, that both of them were from Chicago, but on Xoe's official youtube channel its says that she's from NC, and Matt's official channel states that he's from Chicago. Xoe also lists Kina Grannis as one of her influences!

I watched a couple of videos of Xoe and she's quite good. Vocally, she kinda makes me think of maybe a combination of Lisa Mitchell and the Canadian electronica artist, Lights.

I also watched a couple of Matt's videos. I like this cover he does of The Swell Season's "Falling Slowly". Pretty unusual choice of instruments for this!
