Last night I found out that Evanescence released a self titled album last October. You're not the only one 17-Oct-2012 08:39:02

who doesn't have that time ;)
With Evanescence, I was at uni when Bring Me To Life was released in the UK, and I thought, that's not too bad, let's see what they're like. A quick search of the other side of the internet revealed a zip file full of b-sides and rarities, and it lead on from there. For some, piracy is the devil and the end of music, for me, it's often the start! (keep in mind though, these were the days before Spotify etc which is partially the solution to my issue).
Within the week I'd bought the album and then the next album - then missed one, which I'll probably order today.
I've tried various other female fronted rock / gothic metal / symphonic metal bands, Flyleaf, Delain, Leaves Eyes, Tristania,, Epica... but none of them seem to match Lacuna. Most if not all have great vocalists, but too much of a thrash metal style, or simply songs that I don't like.
I quite like Within Temptation, and (though I'd probably get shot for listing these last two with those others) I love Paramore and The Pretty Reckless.
