There's a Southern California artist named Adrina Thorpe who wrote and recorded this beautiful love little song called "Did You Think":

Beth Nielsen Chapman is an amazing American songwriter who has many songs about love. I couldn't find the ones I was looking for ("I Need You Love" and "I'll Find Your Love") which are from her Back to Love album from a couple years ago, but this one "I Find Your Love" is a song about love, although perhaps a different kind of love:
Common Wombat educated me of a brand new album featuring music from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film musicals recorded by the John Wilson Orchestra. In 1969, the full scores and orchestral parts for all of the MGM productions were destroyed because, it was thought, they took up too much space and a new car park was needed. As John Wilson noted, "Every note of music for every MGM film was gone – used as landfill for a Californian golf course." This song captured my attention because it seems to capture some of the essence of being in love with someone.

One of the most beautiful love songs for me is "Marie" by Randy Newman from his Good Old Boys album. There's a certain irony to this song within the context of the album, but I won't get into that here!
Gerry Rafferty, who sadly died a couple years ago, wrote this fantastic song called "Right Down the Line". I don't know if it would be considered obscure, since Rafferty's City to City album was a hit... in about 1978.
"I Need Her Love" by the Electric Light Orchestra (from the Discovery album that represent the shocking development (for me) of ELO turning disco!
In hindsight, this is a lovely song.
