...but I found it on myspace.
This is a song by Gary Chapman from his 1987 album Everyday Man . It's a duet with Amy Grant, his wife at the time. It was written by singer-songwriter John Hiatt, who is perhaps best known for his song Have a Little Faith in Me.
This was several years before Grant's mainstream breakthrough, when she was known for her Christian music. I'm a big fan of hers going back even earlier than this. (Oddly enough, even though I'm not personally Christian, I like her religious music better than her secular pop hits. IMO Heart in Motion, her pop breakthrough record, is one of her weakest albums.)
I like the crisp, straight-ahead arrangement here and the vocal performances -- impassioned but never over-the-top. And I find this interesting as an Amy Grant fan, because you rarely hear her sing in this raw, rock-ier style.
The song is a straightforward three-chord progression (I-IV-V and I-V-IV), with the twist that it's in three different keys. The first key change occurs only 9 seconds into the song and is in Hiatt's original as well. The second occurs at 1:15 and was not in Hiatt's original; I'm guessing they added it in this version to accommodate Grant's vocal range. Both key changes are fairly subtle; I don't notice them unless I am listening for them.
