I met Katie a couple of years ago when she moved to Los Angeles from Melbourne. She's very nice and tried to play at almost any venue she could. I believe she has knack for writing good, melodic songs that grab most people. She's actually gotten a decent amount of airplay on BBC 2. As it stands she plans on going to the U.K. and Ireland in February. If you get a chance you should see her live. She's very good and she's got a gift for witty comments which I think you'll enjoy. This particular song has a bit of a country/pop feel. Katie's a pretty good musician and if any of you are guitar freaks you'll love her arsenal of guitars.
Mostly high-end Australian guitars like Matons, Cole Clarks and some U.S. Gibsons. In the video she's using a fairly obscure guitar that lots of people have asked her about. It's from Harden Engineering who make custom guitars. I asked Katie about it and she said the reason she got it is she really likes the sound of this guitar. I've mentioned her before because a song she wrote was selected by Movado Watches.
