The Corrs Club

No worries, Rick. And I enjoyed the STG interview that you posted.

(The link was broken, but I found the interview easily using google.)

I've listened to a bunch of STG interviews on youtube, but these have all been recent interviews talking about the new album, so it was interesting to hear an earlier interview with the band. One thing that struck me was that Carah's singing style sounds different in the earlier performances. I read that some fans felt that she sings with an English accent, and I thought that was more noticeable in the earlier performances (e.g., Le Disko). Carah said in an interview that she does not intentionally do this, and she didn't know why it sounds that way.

Since this discussion board has added immeasurably to my enjoyment of (and knowledge about) the Corrs, I was searching for a similar discussion board for STG. I found shinytoyguns.net/, but that board seems surprisingly quiet for an active band that just released a new album (I think they get less traffic than this site, for a band that has not existed in 7 years!)

I've still been listening to III every day -- what a brilliant album! I like every song on the album, and even the ones I don't like as much, I think nonetheless contribute to the feel of the album. For instance, Fading Listening is one of my less-favorite songs (although I still like it quite a bit, especially Carah's mellow vocals and the U2-like rhythm guitar), but it serves as a kind of respite before two high-intensity songs (The Sun, E V A Y) that bring the album to a climax. I think if an album has no songs you dislike, several that you like, and a few that you absolutely love -- that's a great album. That describes III pretty well for me. And as I mentioned before, I love the soaring, ethereal sound of many of their songs.
