Seeing as it's the season, I thought we might post holiday songs and performances we like. Last year I went to one of the Hotel Cafe's Christmas charity shows where various artists perform a song or two. The money collected from the gate and some CD sales go to a charity. I'm going to post a very nice version of "O Holy Night" sung by the Ladies Gun Club. It's a female duo of Sally Jaye (originally from Georgia) and Sarah Roberts (originally from North Carolina). I'm not sure why they've been keeping a low profile because they are well liked, but Sally now has a child. The funny part of the performance is they had a "cheat sheet" with the lyrics, but when they put it on the floor they realized the writing was too small to be seen while they were standing. Both are very good singers and I knew them first as individual artists, but Sarah (solo) reminds me vocally of Dolly Parton a bit.
