If MAH or another web developer feels the urge to fill in more detail, I'm sure they will.
But from what I gather, web 'standards' are anything but, and are full of ambiguities to the point where you could argue that Chrome does indeed do it properly..
Data mining wise, I suspect all browsers are doing it to a certain extent (well, actually they 100% definitely are assuming you're using cookies, and that's obviously not the only way either).
I think then by definition this makes Chrome spyware since if effectively , but then that also makes all of the other browsers
The way I see it, if you don't want data about you to be mined online via your browser, there really is only 1 simple solution.
Turn off that internet connection!
The only other real solution I see (focusing on web browsing) is to write your own browser, or learn and use / modify an open source browser like Chromium.
