So even if they sell out the venue, they're grossing just over $1200 for the night. After you get through paying the venue, the promoter, the musicians and crew, not to mention covering the cost of transportation, is that enough to break even?
I guess you could earn more through album and merchandise sales at the gigs, but how much more could that bring in?
Seems like the music business must be a tough way to make a living unless you are a big-name act that can charge upwards of $50 a head for tickets.
