LindaJ should be the one starting this topic since she introduced me to Canadian jazz singer Holly Cole maybe about 5 or 6 years ago. Holly Cole is a talented interpreter of songs... with a delivery that I find leaves me thinking deeply about the lyrics. I'll leave it to Linda to give us all the knowledge - and fill us in on the new album, Night.
Here are some songs of hers that I enjoy:
"Waters of March" (from her 2007 album, Holly Cole) I find the lyrics to this song fascinating
"I Can See Clearly Now"
"Make It Go Away" this version from Romantically Helpless
"Looking for the Heart of Saturday Night" (from Temptation)
I also really like her song "Onion Girl" but I couldn't find a decent quality video. This video of "Get Out of Town" will give you an idea of how she's backed up by some fine musicians:
Okay, Linda, the mic is all yours!!
I didn't want to allow your AOTM to pass without some comment.
