I'm new to Kathleen Edwards though she's been making music for over a decade 09-Mar-2013 17:14:18

Some of you may already know her, I only learned of Kathleen Edwards, indie/pop/country/rock singer songwriter from Ottawa, Canada, from YouTube a few months ago. The AOTM video of "A Soft Place to Land" was one of the first videos of hers that I stumbled and through it I felt drawn into her music. Another song I liked immediately was "In State" from her first album Back to Me (2005).
Apparently, her latest record, which was produced by Justin Vernon (also known as Bon Iver), represents a departure in the direction of "Indie" from her earlier country-sounding music. Since I'm experiencing all of her music for the first time all at once, I suppose that not noticing it as much as others might. It is similar to how I discovered the Corrs during the Borrowed Heaven period, so I didn't feel the same about In Blue as others may have who had been following the Corrs from the days of Forgiven Not Forgotten.
On the making of her most recent album, Voyageur:
