But, yeah, the guy's amazing! That part he's playing at the time marker you pointed me to is really impressive. It's a polyrhythm of some sort played at lightening speed. Are you familiar with polyrythms? Kind of hard to describe, but they're two rhythms/patterns played, which ARE in time and tempo with each other, but sound like they conflict. One's pulling one way, rhythmically, and the others one's pulling you the other.

A couple of years ago, I bought a glockenspiel to use with my drumkit. Neil Peart, of Rush, is known for using a glock at his kit. I really enjoy being able to add a melodic element while still playing a beat at the kit. I'll keep the beat between hi-hat, kick and snare, but I only use one drumstick for it. I play the glock with my left hand and play simple parts over the beat. VERY fun! :)
