...but it was helpful to have someone explain them while playing them, so you know what to listen for. (When I was reading about polyrhythms, that was years ago, long before youtube existed.)

I've read that my first AOTM suggestion, Steve Reich, uses polyrhythms in his music. He has one piece where the marimba player plays the same part with both hands, but twice as fast in the right hand -- i.e., the left hand is playing at the normal tempo and the right hand at double the tempo. (That must take quite a bit of hand independence to play!) I've also read that Reich studied in Africa with members of the Ewe culture, which is known for its use of polyrhythms in its music. The Ewe are also mentioned at the start of the video you linked.

That's cool about adding a glockenspiel to your setup. Here's a video with the only Corrs performance I know of that has a glockenspiel (barely audible during the second verse). I don't know if this is a real glock or a synth, but it might be real since they are backed by an orchestra.
