Bluey told me a sad tune: that he came from the poor section, that he never got to play with the "cool" instruments until Jeff Lynne plucked him out of obscurity to play with ELO, which was a kind of "geeky cool." The official "varnished" story is that Bluey left ELO over "artistic differences" though he confided in me that he was caught fiddling with one of the cellos and he was lucky to get away with his neck intact. After a long term engagement with the Blue Man Group in Vegas fell through, he felt himself without a bridge to any future. However, Sharon - with hear keen ear for talent - pulled some strings to get Bluey into the Corrs and the rest is history. It was the high note of his career. I'm sure it's been a heartbreak for him to see Sharon playing a green violin lately on The Voice of Ireland. "It's funny," he sighed (Twitter-sighed, that is), "right now I feel that I'm the one that's green."

No.... I made it all up. I do not think that Sharon's blue violin ever belonged to Mik Kaminski of ELO. tongue.gif
