One of the reasons I suggested Neutral Milk Hotel is that they're just about the only band I know that successfully incorporate the sound of musical saw (and on top of brass and bagpipes at that!) in their music.

If you've never heard it before, it's the creepy "woooooo" sound you could hear starting at 3:10 in "Ghost"

Here are other great songs that may or not have musical saws.







P.S. I obviously have only listened to songs from their album In The Aeroplane Over the Sea. I got interested to it after author Neil Gaiman mentioned it in his blog and after finding out about the rumor that Anne Frank inspired it.
