She is definitely well known in the US, certainly more so than the Corrs. I was surprised to read that Sheryl Crow had opened for the Corrs during part of the BH tour. In the US she would have been the main attraction and the Corrs the opening act.

While checking to make sure my memory was correct on Sheryl Crow opening for the Corrs, I learned that the Corrs had played on a Sheryl Crow song. I did not know that! Here it is:
