Even the "experienced" members who usually do use the links to create clickable links forget every so often. Most boards/places nowdays convert things automatically so I think a lot of times people don't even think about it.

I try to go in and "fix" people's links whenever I can (to make them clickable) but don't always have time. But that's why your links in your previous post are now clickable.
