Cara is a little too quick for me, but I'll give you a little rundown on Haroula Rose. She was born outside of Chicago and attended the University of Chicago and earned a Bachelor's in English and a Masters in Education. Haroula was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and went to Europe and the Middle East. She also took some film classes at USC in Los Angeles. She was an indie singer I'd heard about, but never got to see her until a couple of years ago when she performed at a charity event at the Hotel Cafe. I liked her singing, but she didn't do many shows locally although she is primarily based in Los Angeles. Then late last year her film work suddenly burst out. One was a short called, "No Love Song" which she co-wrote and sang in the film. Among the stars in the short is Rosanna Arquette. Then a movie she was an associate producer got all kinds of notice including several film festival awards. The movie is "Fruitvale Station" about the shooting of an unarmed passenger by a transit policeman. Haroula Rose (her real name, her last name which is Greek and can easily found) was at most of the major film festivals like Cannes, etc. earlier this year. She is finally going to do some select dates in the next couple of months. She's a really sweet girl who comes across almost "hippie-like." When she was about to do her last song at Room 5 last year she said something like, "thank you for coming.....I love you all." She actually sounded like she really meant it.https://www.facebook.com/haroularose There is a fair number of videos on youtube, etc. you can check out. "> Haroula does an interesting rendition of the old Glen Campbell chestnut, "Wichita Lineman." ">
